Da Funk – Walking Tall (mp3 EP)

Switzerland in 1991. The electronic music began to crowd its fans. In front a teenager called Da Funk. Electronic Music had done it to the young man and he began to deal with the whole scene. First party attendances were the result and Da Funk was definitely fallen in love with the music. In the middle of the 90’ies, which Da Funk naturally through-live with excessive celebrations on innumerable Parties and Club nights, the normal celebrating as a music consumer did not gave him the sufficient kick anymore. Thus the music-possessed young man began to acquire himself how to Mix. Soon the first gigs came at smaller, usually illegal parties around Winterthur. In winter 1996 the first large gig in Zurich followed and Da Funk were rocking the floor. Further bookings troughout Switzerland followed. The attendance of a Spanish party island ’97 rang the end of his DJ activity. The sufficient satisfaction by playing records only and in holidays with a new music direction infected, the DJ project was hung to the nail. House Music was the new born child of Da Funk. A time of re-direction followed and Da Funk returned into the role of the consumer for a short moment. Dormant sitting around and nothing doing aren’t characteristics Da Funk call his own and so he courageously move on to a further step. Producing own sounds and tracks should be it. He began to build up his own Studio and working with large eagerness at his musical ideas.

Plastic City. Classics (mp3 album)

In the year 2494 the “Scientist Report Network” will comment: “…The major problem in the past was to locate the setting of the ancient Plastic City. Referring to our latest findings Plastic City was not a city built of stone or metal but more kind of built out of ideas… (Plastic City) can not be found by our archaeologists. We will have to examine the ideas and then try to reconstruct Plastic City in our minds…” So maybe this city based on a foundation of ideas as futuristic and as hard to grasp as ever, especially for those who still live in an era of weapons of major destruction and deception. It is only consequent that Plastic City’s founders proclaim sometimes the dawn of a new age, only to be understood by those who understand to read the signs. So far five ages were found in the history of Plastic City: “The Early Years”, “The Age Of Search And Destruction”, “Reconstructed”, “Maybe. Plastic City” and topically “Imagination Of The Shape”. Plastic City. Classics continues the legacy by presenting some of the most important tracks of the city history in a comprehensive retrospective. The future of the label is the past and present. Or the present is the future. It depends how you look at it.

The track “Timothy L” from Groove Rebels (Harthouse) conqueror the official German Club Charts (DCC) on position #22. The hot-blooded, full-on DJ duo Skai and Deekay, hailing from Mainz where the two residents are solely responsible for the booking of renowned house club 50Grad, recently got their calling when they ventured into production as well. After years of DJing and successfully running club nights like the “Envy My Music” parties which has seen them move into one of the most successful clubs in Frankfurt, Sven Väth’s legendary Cocoon Club, regularly rocking the crowds with their very own blend of techy house and housey electro, Skai, who is also working as a booker, and sound developer Deekay, got together in the studio which resulted in their first release “Untight” on Great Stuff which also marked their national breakthrough. “Dicks In Space”, their follow up on Toca 45, is just as anticipated as this sweet little release on hit stable Harthouse, the label that seems to have taken an avant-garde position in signing future tracks that unfold unlimited potential on the dancefloor – just like “Chev Chelios”, a phenomenal three tracker that should firmly establish itself with those who enjoy out of boundary, basic, acid flavoured housetec on an electroey tip. blackhole recordings Black Hole Recordings was founded late 1997 by Arny Bink and Tijs Verwest (DJ Tiësto). It started initially as a private label for the productions and mixes of DJ Tiësto, who was getting more and more popular at the time. Due to the great success of the first 2 mixcompilations, Magik One and Space Age 1.0, Black Hole decided to work with other dj’s and released In Trance We Trust 001 mixed by DJ Misja Helsloot, one of the first commercial trance compilations at the time. After this, many other dj’s were interested in working with the label. Black Hole brought the world the first mixcompilations from now established artists as Stigma, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Johan Gielen and many others. With all these releases the label always focused on quality and originality, and now they can rely on a steady but growing fanbase in many different territories. Besides releasing mixcompilations on compact disc, Black Hole also started releasing 12″ dj food in the beginning of 1998. Once again with Tiësto as the main contributor at the start, many other producers were interested in releasing their tracks on one of the labels. Black Hole now has 10 vinyl labels, each having its own specific looks and sounds. Styles on these labels vary from epic trance to progressive club. Over the years, Black Hole had some major hits in several territories. We welcome “Majestic Trax” to our service at dtunes.de. The DJ, graceful and majestic, stands over the ecstatic dancing crowd. In the club, he sends them on a mental journey and offers them only one goal: drift away to the sounds of good music. Accompanied by friends in an unknown destination, the DJ reacts, for one night, to the movements of your body. Then he passes over the decks to the next DJ as if he was handing over his scepter and his control. The crowd admires him; his appearance was the crowning of the evening. They cheer as if they were shouting, “The King is dead, long live the King.” Therefore, he lives on in their mind and soul. The Berlin DJ Robbespierre was often a King in this way, with his mixing board as his throne. He was also a countless witness of the power led by other members of the empire in numerous cities and countries around the world. That is when he came up with the idea of uniting these kingdoms and creating his own dynasty. As a result, the new label that serves modern and royal possibilities: the digital seal Majestic Trax! The king’s assignment is to connect all the ideas and noble sounds around the world, reunite them via internet, and brew them into his dynasty. He quickly discovered this concept from the inspirational sounds of the United Kingdom. His goal is to create a mixture of elegant electronical and progressive Tech-House tunes with a touch of Trance. With the first single “MaleFunction” from Majestic Trax, he was able to share his success with an Italian King, the bold remixer Robert Bardini from Turin. The raised Spanish Marc Garcia, proved himself as a sacred producer and continues to dignify himself as a noble dominance to the machine to expand the kingdom. The future of Majestic Trax lies in good hands, there will be more Kings and Queens joining the growing empire. The royal episode has begun.

Jean F. Cochois is the Timewriter and arrived at the top ten years ago. Since then he has developed and fine grinding his productions so that press, media and audiences agree on the fact that he is a master at his arts: Spinning at the most famous venues all over the globe, remixes for Mike Oldfield, Faithless, Yello, Boy George, Rammstein and many more…everything done? He doesn’t think so and presents his 5th album “Soulstickers” which will be attached close to the listeners’ souls for sure because that’s the place where they came into existence! Straight from the introduction which is “resetting the clocks” The Timewriter is creating intensive and emotional songs and takes you on a trip through his sonic world of pleasure. “Soulstickers” follows his tradition of knitting together tracks with interludes and indicating an overall concept. The whole “story” incorporates the listener and you begin to feel like a character of a strongly emotional tale. Looking at the track titles you get an impression where The Timewriter is aiming at: “Is this Life”, “Circling on a Train of Thoughts”, “Euphoria Days” ore “Sunshine in the Backyards” are the scenes of a story which is written by heart and soul – just “Soulstickers”. It’s a unique mixture of tech- and deephouse, soul and ambient which invite to exchanging some energy. The Timewriter is supposed to having already reached the peak, so he excelled his genius again!
