Moon presented their labour of love called “Gorsky Park” in the beginning of 2008 – elements of pop music mixed with electronics, triphop and house in a quite personal and gentle manner. They define their own genre and invite the listener to a journey through pleasure, deep moods, delightfulness, sadness and happy feelings. Martin Lowis -who also used to play the guitar- and Oliver Beier connected their electronic compositions with the lovely voice of Verena Johann and began messing up styles, added funky effects and real instruments and finally arrived at their orb. Alex Jacobi as producer lead their compositions to a degree of perfection which still sounds natural…artificial?…you have to listen to experience the layers of emotions and sounds. If you want to know more about Moon, just listen to the interview with Verena Johann:

Terry Lee Brown Junior was presenting his long awaited fifth album “Softpack” on Plastic City a view weeks ago. As one of the main characters of Plastic City’s catalogue he consistently followed his path of creating and developing his unique, extraordinary style. Highly addictive grooves and elements of house, techno, jazz, downtempo and even breakbeat melt together and thus you can never expect a certain category of sound – but there’s an important ingredient for all of his works: Emotion! From early beginnings until the present Terry’s musical ideas had great impact on what we now call “techhouse”. As a pioneer and central player of the techhouse scene he succeeded in getting and remaining one of the most requested producers and DJs worldwide. Especially in the U.S.A. and Great Britain he established himself as archetype for nearly every following production or name in this division. After long nights at the studio and countless appearances at the most sought-after locations of the planet he appears with state-of-the-art productions which are more than beats, bass, groove and synths: According to his multi-faceted perspective and style he is just doing the music as he feels when being at the studio. You cannot judge this exceptional piece of music as aiming at a certain use. All tracks are connected to each other and are best suited for dancefloor use – nevertheless it’s pure listening pleasure you can enjoy nearly anywhere you are. Mysterious atmospheres are crossed by deep grooves – tasty melodic bits and wide effects garnish a delicious menu – gourmet guarantee! This is a 7″ called “Softpack (The Edit)”, which is an essence of the album “Softpack”. On the b-side you can find on top the Dub’N’Pack Edit, a more dub-like mix of “Softpack (The Edit). The 7″ is strictly limited to 500 copies.
Robert Manos began recording bits and pieces on a 4 trk recorder using primarily drum machines, synths and electric bass and gradually began to add his voice to these recordings. Working as a bass player and background vocalist with various bands and projects, Robert began to develop his own style which can only be described as a mixture of everything he was exposed to, and as a way of trying to define the realities of living many lives in different worlds, the distance this can cause between people but also the sense of being connected to everything but at times lost to yourself. Robert Manos spent his early years in Germany, Kenya and Tanzania before moving to New York as a teenager. His musical background is shaped by many influences including 70’s Soul, R&b, New Wave, Dancehall Reggae and Classical Music. In 2002, Robert began collaborating on projects with Jesper Dahlbäck and Sebastian Ahrenberg in Stockholm (Sweden). His first full album “Angel Road”, released on Mole Listening Pearls was co-produced by Jesper Dahlbäck and Sebastian Ahrenberg.

With their first single “könig des leids”, a cover of the police classic “king of pain”, königwerq launched a brilliant strike. In mind at least is still their strong pop song “was wäre wenn”, the first cut from their seconds album “es ist an der zeit” released in August 2007 via Universal.
Bar 1 Summer.08, mixed by Babak Shayan (Shayan Music)
Our man from Cologne Babak Shayan continues his compilation series “Bar 1” named after the location in Heidelberg, Germany. Like he did on the previous “Bar 1” Compilations, he picked up the most interesting tracks of artists from his own label Shayan Music as well as jewels from other producers. The well thought dramaturgy of this mix compilation paired with the soft character of mixing skills gives this mix it’s unique penetrability and allows the listener a light and dubby journey through different styles of Tech- and Deephouse, feeling the soft touch the rain of sound leaves on the skin, the electricity pulsing in the muscles while the beats are driving into them and catapult them in a freshness the synthesizer arrangement brings in consciousness. Shayan, releasing on labels like Pesto, Shayan Music, Plastic City and appearing with tracks on compilations like Deep House (Streetlight) or the “This Is TechHouse” Series on Tronic Soundz, as a DJ developed his style of TechHouse in a way of opening a window to let all the dreams, wonders and sexyness in without refusing samples of classical instruments, subtile vocals and laid-back bass-structures. In this mix relaxed tracks and euphoric tunes are rotating fast and and full of verve, so that the mind keeps breathing constantly and refreshing of thoughts, feelings and momentas is no longer a question of passivity than of activity. Everything opens the barrels where the rhythm of life is hided and access to new kinds of perception is granted. So fall in this river of sounds and don’t think about life anymore, because this mix is life itself.
