Ocean Gaya – Transitions (mp3 EP) – Plastic City

Of German and French extract, Ocean Gaya’s first contact with music was through listening to a wide range of 70’s psychedelic jazz rock and black music in his childhood. When living in London in the 90’s he discovers the acid jazz wave and later the UK’s underground instrumental house. This sound that was bringing small club crowds together into a unique energy left him indelible memories. Ocean Gaya started producing tracks after a couple of years spent sailing across the oceans as a free-lance skipper. His collection of outstanding voyage memories had to be expressed in a concrete form. With some precious friends around, like Christoph Kardek (Fiat lux/ Distance), he slowly finds his color, an instinctive and smooth approach of deep house, bringing together old and contemporary sounds into expressive soundscapes. Today he produces an elegant, deep, techno-flavoured house, attracting an ever-increasing audience.

DKMA presents Andrastea – Rhino Horn (mp3 EP)

Dana Kelley’s sound and music has made a major impact on the House scene since 1995. Growing up in Roxbury Massachusetts, in a single parent household, Dana’s musical influence started with his mother. Ophelia played numerous R&B hits that are considered classics by today’s house folk. George Benson, MFSB, O’Jays, and Herbie Hancock. Ophelia enrolled her children into the Elma Lewis School of Performing Arts, where he excelled as a classical violinist, selected as a Suzuki violinist, was chosen with 5 other students to play for Chinese embassy. Music is not the only passion, art as a whole was exposed to Dana. At the age of 16, Dana demonstrated a flair for fashion illustration, and won a 2 year scholarship to the Museum School of Fine Arts. In 1994, Dana approached DJ Bruno at Boston Beat with a cheesy demo of tracks he was working on. Bruno called Dana and told him to stop sitting on the music, and recommended house labels to send a demo to. Kult, Strictly Rhythm and Eightball received demos, and 3 days later Gladys Pizzarro called with an offer Dana could not refuse. “Krimp” was born, a name derived from the locks Dana cut the day before to look for work in Boston. This was the beginning of something truly special. Dana played also a part in the UK revolution called Speed Garage. A bassline from “In the Spirit” was sampled numerous times and was released on Strictly Rhythm as “Praxis featuring Kathy Brown – Turn Me Out”. Beside a lot of releases on labels like Strictly Rhythm, Contrast Records, 4th Floor Recordings, Chug Recordings and Subliminal Records he also released on Plastic City under the name “DKMA presents Andrastea”. Now Dana is back with his fresh new EP “Rhino Horn”.

Moon – Spiel (single) – Mole Listening Pearls

Moon is a musical satellite which consists of three creative minds who have been working on their world since 2003. After their first virtual meeting they discovered that they have – even though they are pretty different characters – something in common in their universe: The love for a certain kind of music – slightly melancholic , atmospheric, melodic , playful and various concerning style and colour. They define their own genre and invite the listener to a journey through pleasure, deep moods, delightfulness, sadness and happy feelings. Martin Lowis -who also used to play the guitar- and Oliver Beier connected their electronic compositions with the lovely voice of Verena Johann and began messing up styles, added funky effects and real instruments and finally arrived at their orb. Alex Jacobi as producer lead their compositions to a degree of perfection which still sounds natural…artificial?…you have to listen to experience the layers of emotions and sounds. “Spiel” ( in German: game) is taken from the album “Gorsky Park” which was released in the beginning of 2008. On the single you can find brand new remixes of the song as well as a short radio version.
