After “You Are My Keeper” and “Rock On”, plus49 present another brilliant single. “Naive Brother” is a song about impartiality and unsophistication. The positive side of simplicity. With childlike curiosity and free of spiritual chains plus49 explores and moves existing barriers to make room for new, perhaps even groundbreaking discoveries and inventions. The perfect introduction to the new and complex studio album of plus49, “Integrity and Injury”. The album will be released in August 2009. Take a listen to Rene Breitbarth’s productions, and you’ll find that his original hometown has obviously had a great effect on his sound. Taking the hypnotic qualities of techno and adding the swing of classic house, there is a melodicism to his work that is unmistakably Cologne. Rene Breitbarth fell in love with electronic music in the early ’90s whilst clubbing at the city’s Space and Warehouse venues, and it was his experiences there that convinced him to start producing his own tracks and put out several white labels which he sells to the local record shops. The next step for Breitbarth was the launch of the Treibstoff label with co-founder Marcel Janovsky in 1997, which they continue to run after more than ten years on the scene. Apart from his releases on Treibstoff – which include two full-lengths and countless singles – Breitbarth has contributed to labels such as Treibstoff, Sub Static, Poker Flat, Spectral Sound and Dessous, even proving himself as an advocate of the digital scene with the first release on Jay Haze’s Textone netlabel. With this continuous output he gained fans worldwide from Deep House to Techno at an early stage, being a guarantor for worn-out dancefloors and the right feeling for dry house grooves and harmonic sensibility.
Nicole Moudaber – A La Follie (mp3 EP) – Plastic City. Play
Her story began in her homeland of Lebanon where Nicole became the first person to bring dance music to Beirut and provide big name DJs with a taste of the Middle East. Hosting an unforgettable party between a bombed out mosque and a church, Nicole proved that dance music had the power to unite; an ideology that’s become all the more relevant throughout the years. Upon moving to London she ran Southeast Recordings, which became home to artists like T-Total, Christian Hornbostel and Tom Stephan, and spearheaded Soundworx at legendary London club Turnmills. Born in Ibadan (Nigeria), Nicole lived her early years in Lagos, before moving with her family to Lebanon. Her studies in London led her to get into clubbing and she began to travel. “I fell in love with house music in NY back in 1989, hearing Junior Vasquez and Danny Tenaglia” says Nicole. “Since then I’ve travelled the world chasing the best parties, from Paris to Madrid, Amsterdam, NY, LA, London, Ibiza and beyond.” Now Nicole has begun producing and her tracks have been picked up by the likes of Azuli Records, Plastic City and The Shapeshifters’ own Nocturnal Groove label.
This first time ever done project, initiated by the worldwide performing DJ Gayle San, combines two forms of entertainment in one Produkt, the Network. It is understood since a long time already to spice up a concert or a DJ show with lighteffects and visuals. Regardless if its only with simple coloured lights or, in the best case, with a special Visual Artist, VJ, that performs live videos on TV sceens or projected space.
Worldwide popular and famous DJs exclusively produced tracks for this very project. It is a journey through the worlds Technomusic produced by DJs from Germany, England, Spain, USA, Belgium, Slovakia and Sweden. Alone this compilation is a jewel everyone with a love for Techno should have at home.
The DVD features two specifically programmed and produced videos for each track. No presets or standard visuals have been used, these videos are exclusevly made for Network. Europes most popular and award winning visual artists, that already performed for famous events such as Sonne Mond Sterne, Paul van Dyk, Sven Väth World Tour 08, and also worked for clients such as Mercedes, Ford, NFL Europe, create an audiovisual unity with the tools of contemporary Visual Art mixing with sound.
You can run this DVD on your player at home, or any professional devices such as the Pioneer Video/Audio Mixer.
Under their nom de guerre Alphawezen, Ernst Wawra and his singing comrades-in-arms have already demonstrated their expertise in the weird and wonderful world of electro-apparatus. Their three sound carriers, “L’Après-Midi d’un Microphone, En Passant and “Comme Vous Voulez”, floated with somnambulistic lightness and poise over the fertile no-mans land between the genres of trip-hop, house and electropop, hovering over the fine line between art and kitsch. A typical Alphawezen recording session is less like a composers studio session than a conspirative get-together, replete with elated twitterings and chirpings, murmured and whispered exchanges of secrets and piquant remarks. On his third album Alphawezen takes us through the vast realm between experimentation and calculated effects.
DKMA presents Andrastea – The Ascent (Special Vinyl Edition) – Plastic City
After releasing the new and breathless DKMA pres. Andrastea album “The Ascent” on CD, it’s time for a special vinyl edition. The 4-track LP features the album-track “Herdsman” and three additional tracks which you can`t find on CD and the download version of the album. The second track “She’s Devine” with the beautiful poetic voice of Stacey Jethro was originally released 2002 on the label FFR (The Devine EP). Dana Kelley re-edited a new version for this release. The sound of the LP ranges between classical house rhythms and arrangements over breathless clear minimalism and chunky tech-house to very soulful downbeat and ambient titles, always with this rooted and honest sound. Acid-lines take place as well as jazzy organ-improvisations, powerful basslines as well as subtile backround-elements, soulful vocals as well as tricky architectural sample-constructions and sometimes the arrangements leave their glossy surfaces to sproud into the borders of the compactness and homogeneity and create needful edges inside a very designed elctronic music world.

After the great success of his album “The Ascent” on Plastic City in spring 2009 Dana Kelley comes around with the new EP called “Monolith”.
