Digital Alkemist – Um Novo Dia (single) – Mole Listening Pearls

Costas C. aka Digital Alkemist is a natural born drummer brought up in a music family. That´s why he couldn’t have chosen any other path in life but to get involved with music and consequently to study sound engineering, while practicing drums and music technology all along. He started playing drums for many rock bands in the underground scene of Athens during the 90s to land in behind the drum kit of the well known rock band of Nightstalker. He also plays the drums for Night On Earth and Blends’ band called Blend Sextet with participation of members of other well known Athenian bands. Along with drumming he involved himself with DJing spinning, rock, hip-hop and later around ’94 psychedelic trance. That was also the time when he started some production experiments while his interest in electronic music was growing up inside. More than 7 years after his first big success with his debut single “Right Version Left” (#4 German Club Charts) on Mole Listening Pearls, Digital Alkemist reports back with his brand new single “Um Novo Dia”.

Alphawezen – Into The Stars (The Complete Mixes) – Mole Listening Pearls

The Alphawezen project began as an instrumental electronic contemporarty dance outfit and has evolved into a kind of Ambient Electronic Pop with the help of Asu. Her ethereal voice and self-written lyrics lend an organic (orgasmic?) quality to Ernst’s instrumental work. Pop and Ambient are no longer enemies on this release, but rather compliment each other. Boundaries are being tested here, and as the album progresses it becomes apparent that these boundaries aren’t reality, but merely the influence of the external world. The 2nd Alphawezen single is taken from the album “Après-midi d´un microphone” and comes with the voice of Asu Yalcindag. Nine years after the first release, Mole Listening Pearls is releasing all mixes of the song “Into The Stars” in on package again. The song is also part of the new “Snow Glow” collection from Alphawezen.

Turbopascal – The Underground (mp3 EP) – Plastic City. Play

Mikio „Mikimoto“ Gruschinske and Rafael Ximenez-Carillo are two guys with some serious house credentials. As part of the Northrine Westfalia house music scene in Düsseldorf, they have always been at the forefront of the current house revival ever since. Both guys are globetrotters and opening their minds for different cultures. As Turbopascal, it’s been a long seven years since the duo kicked off their production project Plastik Funk with the memorably anthem-house grooves of “Let me see your hands“ and they’ve always managed to follow it up. Their debut EP „The Underground“ on Plastic City is already getting major support from people like Kerri Chandler, Nick Curly or Gorge and is just the first of a wave of pure house tracks being released from their studio. The Turbopascal sound is varying from deep classic house to eclectic tribal and of course, focusing the dancefloor.

Today Zagar has five members: Balázs Zságer (producing, keyboards, vocals), Andor Kovács (guitar), Ákos Zságer Varga (bass), DJ Bootsie (scratches) und Tibor Lázár (drums). On top of this George Ligeti is frequently a featured vocalist. Yousef – Pressure (mp3 EP) – Plastic City. Play

Yousef approaches his third decade in the business, nearly fifteen years of acid house dedication that has seen him throw his life into dance music, but there’s still room for growth artistically and professionally. Completely comfortable in his own skin, yet itching for progress and further creative empowerment, Yousef has strode headlong into the year with increasing maturity and prowess. Perhaps the talking point of the year so far refers to the imminent arrival of his artist album, his first proper. Whilst 2005’s ‘Friends’ EP saw a collection of collaborations extend the usual club format of single, this is Yousef tackling that tricky beast completely on his own, finally laying down on wax a watermark of his effervescent personality. It showcases the different dynamics to his sound as a performer alongside material more reflective of the man away from the booth, with the club tracks already seeing some heavy support from the usual rag tag ensemble of dance music greats; Sasha, Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Radio Slave and Nick Curly among them.
