The Casino Royal.jpg

A kiss is not only the act of pressing one’s lips against the lips of another person or of an object. A kiss is a emotional and romantic statement. The new single of The Casino Royal is looking for a kiss. The song is gospel oath of desire, love, passion and seduction. Like kissing James Bond on a reclining seat of a Aston Martin. The Casino Royal conjures with “You’ll give me that kiss” again a wonderfully light songwriting with orchestral Drive, Mediterranean groove, soft acoustic- riffs and rainbow-colored melodies. The single is taken from their current Mole Listening Pearls Album “From Portugal with Love”.This is music that celebrates the origins of lounge music from the 50s and 60s in perfect mood widescreen format.

A perfect hot kiss will be expected!

venola-banner.jpg

The likeable Italian Chris Venola began his musical journey in the mid 90s. Starting with and inspired by the piano, he began his career in 2005 under the pseudonym Silentalk, when he remixed the French band Curl. Over the years, numerous EPs and remixes were released on various international labels, now Chris is working with Circle Music. Here he was given the opportunity to express his love for music even stronger and to release with “Sixteen Miles” a successful tech-house debut on that German imprint. The album is opened by the relaxed track “I’ll Be There”, which was created in collaboration with Andrea Introvigne & Kira. Slowly building up and providing the vocals of Tania Furia, the breakbeat track “Break U” follows, this lightweight touch of Berlin elektro sound can also be found in the track “Stars”. Actually, the whole album is very diverse in sound. Besides relaxing deephouse tracks like “Illusion” or “You”, there are also some tech-house tracks with a lot of drive like “Mountague Mastermind” right next to melodic house tunes such as “Everytime”. The album is not boring or unbalanced at any time. All tracks have been arranged with passion, refined with vocals and produced with unique emotional and still clubby sounds and grooves. An important role in the production has also been played by his studio partners such as Frank Lee, Vinny Samuels or indeed Tania Furia, Andrea Introvigne or Kira, since with the help of their voices and ideas, they gave the album tracks a strong song-character without loosing the focus on the dancefloor. Chris uses the music as an expression of freedom. With “Sixteen Miles” he now presents a real club-grade release on Circle Music, that also marks the start of a new chapter in the work of Chris Venola.

Lisbon. Beginning of the evening. A day just like the rest. Simone leaves work. She’s late to a party where her husband’s latest Project will be launched. She has twenty minutes to get to Oeiras. As soon as her car arrives at the Duarte Pacheco viaduct, a strange occurrence will change her life forever.

A thirty year old man, Guilherme, is ready to jump of to his death. Simone leaves her car, comes closer, and… he mumbles something, then he looks her in the eyes, kisses her, dances with her, and at the end… throws himself. This man becomes more than a newspaper head for Simone. This man is a mystery transforming into an obsession. Slowly Simone starts backing off from her husband, friends and work to follow the track of the dead man, discovering a life oscillating between reality and fantasy. Between dream and frustration. Guilherme’s universe takes over Simone, and she falls in love with him, or with the idea of him. A painful absence that shakes the tranquility of Simone’s monotonous and bourgeois way of life. Simone ends up “infiltrating” Guilherme’s family, pretending to be his girlfriend, lover or even widow. She became a completely different person, rejecting her previous life or simply “waking up”.

Zagar Light Leaks.jpg

Žagar are a five piece psychedelic electronica band based in Budapest that are turning heads across the globe with their forward thinking sound design, catchy melodies and multi sensory live shows. After recently giving away to fans their latest single, ‘Space Medusa’, as a free download the band are preparing the release of their second album ‘Light Leaks’ – 29th April. Part of the burgeoning eastern European electronic scene, Žagar create a fresh and unique sound based on wave rock, electronica and psychedelic soundscapes. The Hungarian band started out as three-fifths of the Yonderboi Quintet and after a few years and some critical success, keyboard player Balázs Zságer (Žagar’s namesake) and scratcher Dj Bootsie splintered off to form their own sound, exploring more experimental avenues in their music. They eventually added drummer Tibor Lázár, guitarist George Ligeti and bassist Ákos Zságer-Varga to complete the band and are now a hugely significant force on the Eastern European music scene.

Expression through individuality – If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him. “This and That” t is artistic freedom that will be fuelling the fires of Davide Squillace’s latest project. The “This and That lab” will combine music, art and culture to provide a platform for like-minded artists to develop a host of creative projects. The first product out of the lab will be this and that music. Each release on the label will supply boundary pushing music in addition to featuring notable artists’ interpretations of the this and that logo. “This and That objects” will see the production of individual pieces of art from a wide spectrum of platforms. Given a free-reign to explore their own ideas for these projects, the this and that artists (both audio and visual) will comply only with their internal impulses. Every release will come with its own video, every EP taking the sound somewhere new. The “This and That website” will become a breeding ground for social debate featuring art and culture commentary from a host of well-respected critics and artists alike. Taking their events around the world, this and that will also be setting up labs in key locations across the globe. Rather than focusing the output to a specific category the emphasis will always remain on creativity and quality. “This and That” is immune to generalisations, prone instead to vivid doses of originality. drawing music : play art.
