First release on belgian label Atrakt Recordings: Chris Tietjen – Smoke Stack EP

Known from his Cocoon and Cocoonclub history, Chris Tietjen is stepping more and more into the production field. His fourtracker for Atrakt is based on solid Detroit flavoured 909 beats. Tietjen gives us deepness (Smoke Stack / A1) at the same as he delivers pure mental techno heaven (Channel / B1). Randall M is on remix duty for “Smoke Stack“ (A2) and supplies us with that beloved Berlin afterhour flavour – this one beams us straight back to those mad summer mornings dancing with mirrorshades and feeling the heat. Tietjen’s „Deep Swift“ (B2) follows the current sound of Frankfurt, full of deepness, dub-effects and minimal house vibes in the likes of Sasha Dive or Markus Fix. A cool fourtracker that will take us through the grey and cold winter – we can’t wait to hear these gems on the first open airs in spring again!

Eight people come together on a farm in the middle of nowhere. All of them are related by blood, friendship or love to Anton, who escaped his old life and disappeared some years ago and who has now invited them to celebrate his 30th birthday. Anticipating the reunion with their lost son, they put old grievances and injuries aside at first; however, as time passes without Anton showing up, frustration and anger resurface among the waiting. With old conflicts rising from the dead at every turn, the eagerly awaited party turns into a boiling family battle…

The history of director John Kolya Reichart’s own family plays an important role in his graduate project. He wanted to make a movie about a broken family that had to face its conflicts before being offered the chance to recover.

“Antons Fest” (“Party of Eight”) is now playing in cinemas in Germany – for more information on the movie click here:
