Ewan Jansen – Return to Hyperbola (Inner Shift Music)
The first Inner Shift encounter with Ewan Jansen was several years ago on a pair of test pressings, from Mike Grant of Moods and Grooves. The label hadn’t even begun yet, but Ewan created a huge impression and wasn’t to be forgotten by them later. Ffwd to 2016/17, Enter: “Return to Hyperbola”. The first track in, you get a good tech house / deep house vibe called ‘Docking Lane’, fully equipped with lovely atmospheres, a driving kick and intelligent chords. Next is Bulkhead, mainly defined by a full-sounding, broken beat rhythm and expressive keyboards. B1 is ‘Deceleration’, another 4-4 deep house number, but with a subtle quirkiness and over all moody feel. On the B2 is ‘Perspex’, featuring a funky bass, nice pads and elevating keyboard part. Don’t miss out, Ewan never fails to impress.

With a dozen own projects, client remixes and order productions he provides about 250 records and may 80 to 100 own releases. Massimo’s productions has been played in heavy rotation in radios and clubs and has been support from many pioneers of the electronic music movement like Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclar, Sander van Doorn, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Dave Seaman, Moguai, Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morillo, Mark Knight, Hernan Cattaneo, Tube & Berger just to name a few. On this Album he finally collected some of his favorite tunes of the last few years along with some very fresh and brand new productions. Hopefully you’ll feel the warm, emotional and full range spectrum of his music and will make this album to one of your favorites.
Whether in the classroom or in the public: Faith in God seems to play a role in fewer and fewer people. This is also felt by the high school teacher, Grace Wesley, when she answers the question of a female student with a passage from the Bible, which has no bearing on the consequences for her future. The school inspectorate is switched on because Grace is not allowed to influence their pupils. The result is that this incident will create a precedent and remove the license to teach it. Grace soon finds himself again as a defendant in the courtroom, because the state wants to permanently ban religious questions from school teaching and public life. But Grace decides to fight not only for her job as a teacher, but also for her faith in God.
The successor of the movie blockbusters ‘God is not dead’ again provides powerful arguments for the fact that God is anything but dead, and that the faith in him must not be declared a personal property.
Lotte is direct and rough around the edges, yet still always amiable – but above all, she is equipped with a typical Berlin-style big mouth. With this character attributes, she sometimes gets in trouble: at work, with her friends, and even with her boyfriend, who throws her out, unceremoniously. So, Lotte is looking for a place to sleep and shows up at work in the hospital with her suitcase. There, after a chaotic day, she meets fifteen-year-old Greta, who seems to be very grown-up and they make friends, gently. But when Lotte sees Greta together with Marcel, a friend from her suppressed past, and their glances meet, she knows that there will be no escape. Something seems to grow together here, which doesn’t belong together. However, Lotte would not be Lotte if she didn’t save her neck, in her very special and unconventional way, even in this situation. At least for the moment…

On 19th January, daredo media releases a new romantic tragicomedy on its Darling Berlin label: “Luca tanzt leise” (English: “Dancing Quietly“) by director Philipp Eichholtz, whose debut “Liebe mich!” (English: Love me!) was already a remarkable success in Germany’s independent movie scene. It tells the story of Luca, a young woman who tries to take her Abitur after some dark years of depression. Her little dog Mata helps her to find motivation and vitality. In order to pass the math exam, Luca makes a deal with her classmate Kurt: English for math. He becomes a reliable friend, even when it comes really bad for Luca…
Philipp Eichholtz’ movie raises questions. When do you actually succeed in ‘living’? Is it when you understand math and manage to take your Abitur? Or when you know how to get a doctor’s certificate in order to move your exams? Or when you find the right guy, who loves and wants you – and who’s not an asshole?
The German film media is already full of praise, not only for the film as such: “Director Philipp Eichholtz has made a light-footed and humorous Berlin film, with lots of improvisation…” (dRadio Kultur), but also for its actors: “Martina Schöne-Radunski and Hans-Heinrich Hardt become a dream team: They are acting in a very natural way that creates a good mood but doesn’t fail to mention the shady sides, too” *****(tip). “With its fresh and spontaneous narrative style, Philipp Eichholtz’ film reminds of the US mumblecore cinema and affects the viewer through the closeness of the actress to her character.” **** (Cinema)
“Luca tanzt leise” (“Dancing Quietly“) – in cinemas in Germany from 19th January 2017 and on DVD/VoD from 31st March 2017. Furthermore on Netflix worldwide starting 1st of April 2017.
daredo media is proud to announce that our film “Mann im Spagat (Pace, Cowboy, Pace)” will be screened at the 7th Annual Queens World Film Festival which takes place from March 14th to 19th, 2017 in Queens, NYC!
The movie, directed by Timo Jacobs, is kind of a sequel to Jacobs’ debut “Klappe Cowboy!“: ‘Free swinging for word inhalation’ – For Cowboy as a libertine, and leader of the Headquarters for World Inhalation, that’s not such a big problem. He gives everything he’s got to clean up the environment, with the vision of saving the planet with his movement of Free Swingers. Cowboy applies for a grant from the Central Agency who sends a representative named Fey of Sweden to approve his proposal. She demands results, so he decides to stage a charity bicycle rally, featuring a roster of two-wheeled Berlin misfits. Realizing his vision of creating a better world could be so easy, were it not for his adversaries, who kill his mother’s bird and set the Devil of Hermannplatz on him in an effort to sabotage his plans – not the best timing, considering he also has to rescue his stubborn mother from a shady retirement home – and of course, her dying wish is to see Elvis perform. Impossible!
“Mann im Spagat (Pace, Cowboy, Pace)” features many well-known German actors, such as Meret Becker, Claude-Oliver Rudolph or Rolf Zacher, and pop icons from the likes of Olli Schulz and Friedrich Liechtenstein. See it at the Queens World Film Festival in March 2017!
