"Luca tanzt leise" ("Dancing Quietly") now in cinemas in Germany!
On 19th January, daredo media releases a new romantic tragicomedy on its Darling Berlin label: “Luca tanzt leise” (English: “Dancing Quietly“) by director Philipp Eichholtz, whose debut “Liebe mich!” (English: Love me!) was already a remarkable success in Germany’s independent movie scene. It tells the story of Luca, a young woman who tries to take her Abitur after some dark years of depression. Her little dog Mata helps her to find motivation and vitality. In order to pass the math exam, Luca makes a deal with her classmate Kurt: English for math. He becomes a reliable friend, even when it comes really bad for Luca…
Philipp Eichholtz’ movie raises questions. When do you actually succeed in ‘living’? Is it when you understand math and manage to take your Abitur? Or when you know how to get a doctor’s certificate in order to move your exams? Or when you find the right guy, who loves and wants you – and who’s not an asshole?
The German film media is already full of praise, not only for the film as such: “Director Philipp Eichholtz has made a light-footed and humorous Berlin film, with lots of improvisation…” (dRadio Kultur), but also for its actors: “Martina Schöne-Radunski and Hans-Heinrich Hardt become a dream team: They are acting in a very natural way that creates a good mood but doesn’t fail to mention the shady sides, too” *****(tip). “With its fresh and spontaneous narrative style, Philipp Eichholtz’ film reminds of the US mumblecore cinema and affects the viewer through the closeness of the actress to her character.” **** (Cinema)
“Luca tanzt leise” (“Dancing Quietly“) – in cinemas in Germany from 19th January 2017 and on DVD/VoD from 31st March 2017. Furthermore on Netflix worldwide starting 1st of April 2017.
