On “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, the Berlin-based NAOMI are approaching the Alternative House genre – starting with the beat and ending up at the emotion. At the same time, however, the duo is avoiding everything which is too cool or hip. Worked out really well – and the bass, beg your pardon, is sexy as fuck. With “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, Nico Tobias and Bernd Lechler have written a song about childhood and even meditate over naivity and optimism: to derive enjoyment from annoyances and to recognize the potential of failures, making lemonade when the world is throwing lemons at you. At the same time, the song is the harbinger of the upcoming sixth album “Swim”, which is to be released in September and is much more relaxed, more elegant and more reduced than its predecessors, proving again: thanks to their diverse sound, Naomi are one of the acts in electronic music that is definitely not to be missed!

Solemnoire‘s “The Black Sea Workbook” is an intimate experience of distance and longing. Inspired by a magic summer in Varna, it conjures up the vision of a primordial world, an imagined Black Sea as it might have been millions of years ago. Ten tracks pull you into a kaleidoscopic daydream of ancient continents overgrown with tropical green and the deep body of an ocean pregnant with life. A sense of personal revelation fills you as you travel through moments of majesty, melancholy and wonder. It is your world and your discovery. You who gazes toward distant shorelines, walks under a disapproving sun, imagines the dance of marine lifeforms, and trembles at the traces of prehuman activity. You who is permeated by a sense of longing, for the comfort of a remote world unmoved by human concerns.

“My Light” is the follow up single of True Inspirations label head and Neuraum Munich Resident-DJ NELLO after his first Hit in German Radio “Pick Me Up”. After three strong remixes by Thimlife, Guardate and Slykes & Butch on True Inspiration, this brand new Future House remix smasher by Chico Chiquita & Bragaa follows. 120dB Label head Chico already teamed up with the extremely talented producer Bragaa and shook up the scene with their track “Dream Made Real” on RUN DBN Records. Their remix of “My Light” is already supported by Lucas & Steve, Sigala, Curbi, bigFM Nitrox, sunshine live, Radio Fritz, Energy Mastermix and many more!
5 years after the start of the label 040 Recordings, Ralf Picka founded another project in 2012, which has now also turned into a well-established label for high quality electronic music. While the big brother provides rather static Tech-House, Minimal and Techno, Audio Safari demonstrates that driving Tech-House and groovy Deephouse are as popular as ever.
Even with Audio Safari it is proven that the label boss from Hamburg has the right feeling for a good selection of music and its artists. Not only big names of the scene such as Pierre Deutschmann or Sofa Tunes release their current tracks here, but also newcomers like Kevin Over or Lars Moston. As long as the quality is just right and the tracks are dancefloor fillers, Audio Safari will be a partner to all artists.
On the brand new Audio Safari Ibiza 2017 compilation this is proven by tracks & remixes from Nico Pusch, Heinrich & Heine, Genji Yoshida, Sam Junk, Kindred Spirits, Ming and many more… incl. 2 DJ Mixes by Kindred Spirits
The latest film of Darling Berlin‘s most productive darling Tom Lass, “Ugly & Blind” (“Blind & Hässlich“), has won the prestigious FIPRESCI prize, which is awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics. The third movie of the promising young auteur Tom Lass, who co-wrote the script, co-produced, directed and played the leading male part, is about a sensitive topic: the emotional confusion of young people. Director Tom Lass takes a closer look, shooting with blind actors and old Berlin buddies, acting the lead himself – paying tribute to a way of life beyond our way of seeing the world.
The jury praised the balanced mixture of drama, comedy and romance, as well as the excellent cast Naomi Achternbusch, Tom Lass, Clara Schramm, Dimitri Stapfer, Peter Marty and Eva Löbau.
Here is a short synopsis: Ferdi thinks he’s ugly – but likes the fact Jona is interested in him. Maybe because she’s blind. What Ferdi doesn’t suspect: She’s just pretending to be blind to be able to live cheaply in subsidized housing. How long can she maintain her charade? Can love, which is supposed to make you blind, even work out that way?
With Axel Ranisch, Karin Hanczewski, Jakob Lass, Lana Cooper, Martina Schöne-Radunski and Amelie Kiefer in supporting roles, we meet many actors from other Darling Berlin movies in “Ugly & Blind“, and we are very happy and proud to congratulate Tom and the whole team to this tremendous success!
