DBD100-Cafe-Pargue-2016-art-web2incl. Remixes from Patrick Hofmann, Lukas Greenberg, PROMI5E
The second release ever on 120dB Records “Café Prague” was none less than a success story.

Producer & DJ Groovejuice (who is part of Laserkraft 3D and a.k.a. OhMyBoy) astounded us with his hypnotic Electro-Swing track, built from sampled Jazz Piano and Krupa-styled snare drums, simply blew up our minds. The track’s promotional video got over 3.5 Million views on YouTube and is one of the best selling tracks of the label ever!

After 6 years, the time is right for some new interpretations: Patrick Hofmann (Tiger Records, RUN DBN, Seveneves) transfers the classic into contemporary Garage House, ready for all clubs and dance floors. Newcomer talent PROMI5E adds a nasty Future House-Bassline and creates a true monster of a remix! Last but not least, Lukas Greenberg (RIP) of Plastic City guarantees absolute quality in Deep- and Tech House, and delivers a groovy “Samba Edit” for underground DJs and friends of the cooler sounds.
Start the dance again – Café Prague is back!

Ambient, dense synth pop meets electro. Life in the digital age is shaped by a mass of images, information and impressions, which penetrate us without a filter to the point of total overstimulation. It is not uncommon to feel like the poorly conceived prototype of a robot forced to function in a world which greatly exceeds one’s own complexity. No objective, no program to guide us. And we get more and more lost in this infinite freedom while we’re transfixed to the spot, watching the horizon drift further away. All that remains is an empty space, offering everything and demanding only one thing: new input. The Lost Bot’s debut album “Binary Life” deals with the dilemmas of modern life and of youth – with endless possibilities and the ensuing disorientation. Influenced by progressive electro and the spirit of the eighties, director and musician Niels Reinhard aka The Lost Bot creates a dense, ambient sound which has – not least due to the artist’s cinematic inclination – great movie soundtrack potential. The first single “Young and Strong (feat. Laura Carbone)” already summarizes the album’s theme in warm synth pop and dreamy lyrics: a boundless love of life, high spirits and excess meet melancholia, naivety and young people’s ubiquitous fear of failure. The song deals with a world in which love and lust prosper and perish, where euphoria and desperation go hand in hand and where the intensity of experience can sometimes trigger an impulsive act of (self-) destruction. It is a search for truth, identity and happiness, during which the impossible is not left undone – true to the motto ‘Not all who wander are lost’.

Once again, some new high quality labels joined digedo as their partner for digital distribution. And again, the brandings come from all over the world, representing the complete bandwidth of electronic music: “Asylum Confidential” from Honolulu / Hawaii (USA), “Bitbox” (run by Groovejuice) and „s.fm” (belonging to the online radio station sceen.fm) – both from Germany – and “Plant 74”, founded by Tripmastaz in St.Petersburg, Russia. We’re looking forward for a long and good cooperation with these wonderful labels!

Certainly, 120dB is not a really recommended noise level… but it is symbolizing the energy of the sound this house music label stands for. The two founders and managers Greg Silver and Chico Chiquita are both very experienced DJs and producers from Germanys “magic city of House Music”: Mannheim. But differing from the typical deep and calm sound of that region, 120dB stands for powerful and energetic house music from progressive to tech-house and even electro. The most important attributes for the sound of 120dB is the functionality on the dancefloor and a high recognition value, like all members of the 120dB Family as Laserkraft 3D, Falko Niestolik & BK Duke, Wishes & Dreams, Dirt onE, Groovejuice, The Palatinates and many others already showed. Biggest 120dB-success and poster act Laserkraft 3D reached the top 10 single charts in 5 European countries and gold status in Germany. Teamed up for their weekly radio show on Germanys biggest electronic music radio and also as a perfectly matching DJ team, Greg and Chico always represent the 120dB sound on- and off air – watch out!
